Team member interview #04

Let’s get to know the people behind Overstep – this time learning about our graphic designer, Mattias.

What got you into game development?

Gamecan. Before that it was just a dream.

How did you find your way to Gamecan?

I was a freelancer back in the day, constantly looking for new gigs and stuff. And Marten asked if I could re-design his dance studio’s website. After I finished the job he asked if I’m interested in joining the Gamecan team.

What is your favourite thing about your career?

My favorite thing about my career is that it keeps pushing my limits. At the end of each year, I look back and see how much better I am now and what the #%€& I was doing back then.

Tell us about your hobbies.

My hobbies are hiking and trekking… I love to walk long distances. My record is 70km in one day. And of course I like artsy stuff- drawing, painting, graffiti… . And telling YES to weird proposals.

What website or app doesn’t exist but you really wish is did?

Guugle.com -no special reason.

What would the title of your autobiography be?

“Weird stories and me ”

What was the last thing you were really excited about?

Me and my buddy bought a speedboat (weird story) but the engine was busted. So we ended up waiting a whole year until we could give it a run- It made the whole year exciting.

What’s a game you thought you’d like but instead was a disappointment?

No Man’s Sky obviously but now it’s all good between us.

What is the most useless fact you know?

Every time you are washing your teeth, you are actually washing your skeleton. Think about it next time you brush your teeth.

Tell us something that most people don’t know about you.

When I was young I used to sleepwalk a lot. One time I jumped down from the second floor window in the middle of the night (I woke up in the middle of the flight lol). Nothing happened to me, no worries. But… I was naked and I didn’t have keys to get back into the house and for some REASON…. our house doesn’t have a doorbell. I’ll end it here… use your imagination how this all ended :smile:

And lastly, what is the most important thing you have learned while working at Gamecan?

I can ALWAYS do better.
